HeroQuest
HeroQuest was first made available in the UK in 1989, and came to the United States a year later in 1990. Today, I have an original 1990 American edition from Milton Bradley, and a new 2021 edition from Avalon Hill & Hasbro.
Buckaroo
Buckaroo was originally designed by Julius Cooper and produced by Ideal in 1970. It’s a mechanical game of skill where players take turns stacking tools on “Roo” the moody mule’s back.
Risk
Risk was created by Albert Lamorisse, who was most famous for his work as a film director. You may be familiar with his 1956 film Le Ballon Rouge (The Red Balloon). Risk was originally published in France in 1957 as La Conquête du Monde (The Conquest of the World).
The Grape Escape
Released by Parker Brothers in 1992, The Grape Escape is a survival game for kids ages five and up. Players take control of one of four grapes that are molded from a soft putty called Grape Goo, on their terrifying adventure through an automated jam factory.
