Risk was created by Albert Lamorisse, who was most famous for his work as a film director. You may be familiar with his 1956 film Le Ballon Rouge (The Red Balloon). Risk was originally published in France in 1957 as La Conquête du Monde (The Conquest of the World). Production rights were later purchased by Parker Brothers and the game was first published as Risk in 1959. It is a classic dice based strategy game in which players build their armies and attempt to conquer the world.
